in Costa Rica north pacific, next to Cabo
Blanco Absolute Reserve. The area is known as MalPais because
the neighboring village with that name was the first location
of tourist developments. Many Hotels, Restaurants and shops
are now in the Mal Pais area making these twin towns the
best destination for a Costa Rica vacation.
Mal Pais area
wildlife is abundant and you could find Monkeys, Iguanas,
lots of birds, sea turtles, butterflies and many other species.
Many different beaches in the Mal
Pais area offer Surfing, Snorkeling and Swimming. Such as
Playa de los Suecos, Playa El Carmen, Playa Sta. Teresa,
Playa Hermosa and Manzanillo. With long, white-sand
beaches and beautifully curved waves, Playa Santa Teresa,
Costa Rica is a great place to surf. Due mainly to its
sub-surface geography, Santa Teresa, Mal Pais and their
neighboring beaches catch most swells that come from either
the north or the south. No matter what the swell direction
is you can find fun surf in this amazing area.
Its reputation as an uncrowded
surf spot with a sociable surfer community has attracted
the international scene, many who have settled here, contributing
to the variety of foods, hotels and savoir-vivre. There
are many great, affordable restaurants in the Mal Pais and
Santa Teresa area, offering a variety such as french, italian,
Japanese, traditional costa rican, and american. There is
also a rich nightlife atmosphere, with many fun bars to
